ABOUT THE ARTIST

Welcome to Ernest Lacy Fine Arts. We are dedicated to offering a curated collection of exquisite fine art pieces by Ernest Lacy. From the controlled spontaneity of his charming watercolors and the studied glazed layer of his masterly oil paints, to the impulsive sensuality of his intimate monotypes. Lacy studied art at Chouinard Art Institute, Kann Art Institute, Otis Art Institute, and the University of California at Los Angeles. In addition to earning scores of solo exhibits, his prints and paintings have gained fame among the elite. His work has been recognized with prestigious awards from the Pastel Society, Watercolor West, the National Watercolor Society, the Brand Art Galleries, and the San Diego Watercolor International Exhibition. Lacy's work has been featured in many public collections, including the Library of Congress, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Getty Museum of Los Angeles. The artist's work is also featured in several private collections throughout the United States, Mexico, Sweden, Italy and Germany. 

Ernest Lacy shared his dedication and enthusiasm for the arts taking on the role as an instructor at Cerritos College, and Rio Hondo College. The beloved artist, humanitarian, Buddhist, father of two, and grandfather passed in 2020. We invite you to honor his legacy through his art.
